Dr. Hassan is a Legal Practitioner with over 28 (twenty-eight) years post-call experience. He is an Alumnus of various prestigious universities. He has an LL. B Law from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, a BL certification from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, an LL.M from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, an MBA in Marketing Management from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho, an M.Sc. in Corporate Governance (with a Distinction) specializing in Financial Services Regulation, from London South Bank university, United Kingdom and a Ph.D. in Business Administration specializing in Entrepreneurial Governance from Babcock university, Ilishan, Ogun State, Nigeria. Dr. Hassan is an Associate/Fellow member of various professional bodies which include; Business Recovery Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Administration, Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators of Nigeria, Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria, Association of Corporate Governance Professionals, Institute of Directors, Nigeria, International Bar Association, Institute of Chartered Mediators & Conciliators, Nigerian Bar Association and Capital Markets Solicitors Association. He is an accredited training consultant by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Centre for Management Development and in the United States from the Centre for International Private Enterprise, Washington DC, USA.

Dr. Hassan has also acquired relevant experience in various organizations. He started his career as an Associate in Oshinaike & Associates, he observed his youth service at Pipelines & Products Marketing Company Ltd (A subsidiary of NNPC) as a Legal Officer, he moved to Charter House Finance as a Loan Recovery Analyst and later Industrial & General Insurance Company PLC as the Executive Assistant to the Company Secretary & Director Corporate Services. He had a stint with litigation practice with the Firm of Akinwunmi & Busari as an Associate. Upon the completion of his master degree in Laws, he worked in various capacities at Intercontinental Bank Plc (Now Access Bank Plc) as Regional Legal Adviser, South-West Nigeria, Company Secretary/ Legal Adviser and Relationship Manager, Retail Banking. He worked in the Legal/Company secretariat Department of Equatorial Trust Bank Limited and later at First City Monument Bank PLC, where he gained experience in various aspects of business ranging from Company Secretariat, Investor Relations, Operational Risk Management, Business Development, Business Planning, Business Strategy, Sales Management and Loan Recovery. He retired voluntarily from First City Monument Bank as a Zonal Manager, Retail Banking.

Dr. Hassan’s special skills lies in Organization Leadership and Enterprise Governance. He has held leadership roles in various organizations in the Financial Services Industry and undertaken major Advisory Engagements at Management and Board level. Dr. Hassan is a member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria and the Institute of Directors, Nigeria.
